Pump & Heat exchanger skid

Cryocad developed the design of a compact pump skid to support an industrial process circuit. The system integrates two pumps, regulating valves, a shell-and-tube heat exchanger, and an expansion tank, all mounted on a robust steel frame.

The scope of work covered the 3D design of the skid, including the detailed arrangement of components, piping layout, and accessibility checks for safe operation and maintenance. An electrical control panel was integrated directly into the frame, allowing the skid to be delivered as a fully pre-assembled, pre-wired unit.

This project was carried out for a Swedish chemical mixing and process company, ensuring the solution met the requirements for reliability and compact design. With its modular approach, the skid was designed for easy transport and quick installation on site, minimizing downtime and space requirements while ensuring long-term serviceability.

Deliverables from Cryocad included:

  • Piping and instrumentation diagram
  • Detailed 3D model
  • General arrangement drawings with dimensions, component tags and lists, dry and wet weight, and center of gravity (COG)
  • Piping spool isometrics
  • Full bills of materials

These ensured accuracy, consistency, and a smooth transition from design to fabrication.
